Can't remove staples, they keep breaking.

Hi All,

I just pulled up some luan and of course about 500 staples stayed in the oak floor.
I'm having a problem that I don't normally have. The staples are just snapping off as I try to remove them.
For every 1 I get out 5 snap. I was hoping to save this floor but I don't know what to do about this.
What I have tried so far. Small pliers and rolling, large pliers and rolling, screwdriver and prying up, all with the same results, Snap, snap, snap.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Howie's Nail HUnter yet? Works great for me.
