We have Hartco acrylic impregnated oak flooring which has been down around 15 years. We want to refinish the floor to remove some traffic patterns that have worn into the floor. We also have some spotting (from god knows what) but we wondered if we could darken the stain color. It is a light stain almost natural right now. Any ideas ?

I would be very surprised if this floor would accept a stain evenly. Where the wear patterns are you might get below the acrylic but along the walls where it has not been worn the acrylic would be hard to remove so that it would accept stain evenly. To me it would almost be like trying to stain plastic.
