I have a question for those who is experienced with hardwood floors:

We had a cracks on the floor like on this picture: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=j77qcz&s=5

We prepared an inspection for the floors 1 month after the last time I personally saw almost the same cracks on the hardwood floor. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be in the house during the inspection and will no be able to visit the place in the nearest time.

Inspectors claim that issues disappear and they didn't see any cracks...

So simple question: is it possible that cracks like that (going through the finish) would simply disappear and floor would look like new?

Maybe the inspector needs glasses. It's been my experience that they can close up but not totally disappear on a hard finish like an AO finish which most prefinished floors have.
