My fiance and I are planning on installing new flooring in our home. We thought we had decided what we wanted until we began shopping around and asking "experts" what to do. Our question is can hard wood flooring be installed in south florida? We have had conflicting answers depending on who you ask. Our concern is we are not getting accurate information and it is making or decision very difficult. We have done our homework and we do not want to go with the engineered wood but the solid wood. We would like to install both hardwood on the first and second floor of the home. We now have tile on the first floor which we intended on ripping up and installing hard wood floor but we were told hard wood floors should not be installed in south florida. Our question was so why are you selling the product then if it shouldn't be installed in south Florida? We just want a straight answer. We find it very hard to believe that hard wood flooring is not installed at all in south Florida. Can anyone help us out with this dilemma?

Yes, Hardwood can and is installed in South Florida, all the time.

How it is installed and how they maintain it and the atmosphere they keep it in, is the difference in long lasting problem free floor and failure.

Absolutely Floorguy.

There's still dealers in Las Vegas that say it shouldn't be installed here.
Yet, they also carry it ! Figure that out ! It's like the twilight zone or something
