I am considering engineered 5" walnut plank flooring.

Can it be nailed or stapled to a subfloor? Can I staple 30# felt to the subfloor (3/4" plywood) and then staple or nail the engineered without glue?

Call them directly and ask them. Some you can do glue, float, or staple. Some can float or glue. Some are only glued. Some are only float.
