Greetings all,

I'm looking to put BR-111 Braz. Cherry (3/4, 5 1/2 wide) into my house. I found great pricing on "flooringstore.com", but cannot find any online reviews on the company. I have found less than stellar reviews on other online sites (Lumber Liq. and "fastfloors.com"), but nothing on the other company. For reference, they were charging $5.91 per square, where Lowes was asking $8.99. Shipping was free (I'm looking for 1600 square of wood - given the $$, they said they'd ship that free).

Anybody have any experience with these folks?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

- Dave

Great price! I don't know how they can make any money out of that deal. Shipping alone can cost them more than $ 1,000...easily. I'm not familiar with them. Having experience selling online I would suggest reading this article...

Good Luck

Read carefully about the SHIPMENT DAMAGE issue. This is the biggest drawback to online sales for now.

If I order from a retailer, I can refuse damaged flooring on the spot. I can also handle warranty issues directly with the salesman.

The other drawback is delivery. Not only will the shipment arrive on their terms, but they will drop it where they will. I had a TV delivered once; it arrived on an 18-wheeler, and the driver would not so much as cart it up the driveway. I can't imagine hauling a ton of lumber just because they won't back the rig up one hundred feet!

Thanks for the feedback so far. Shipment damage does show up as a recurring theme - I'll have to read up on the specifics.

One issue with the company is I don't know if they are an authorized reseller of BR-111. I checked the BR-111 website and they didn't show up. Another online seller (Hurst Hardwoods) had a similar price - about 20 cents more per square, but will charge for shipping, and is an authorized reseller of the product.

Good point on the delivery - Hurst said they would use a liftgate delivery, which would at least save me the hassle of getting it out of the truck.

Your still not going to get replacement flooring any faster if it damage from either. When you take delivery and there is damage, the delivery company has the claims forms, and a call to the on-line retailer to explain what has occurred, will get product sent immediately. At least that is the way iFloor always handled it.
