I have a room where I will be building floor to ceiling bookcases on one wall. Am currently in the slow process of installing Kahrs floating floor throughout much of the house.

The question is... Should I build the bookcases before or after installing the floor? I guess this is kind of a variation on the "should I install kitchen cabinets before or after hardwood..." question that appears from time to time. With the floating floor, it seems like I should probably build the bookcases first. But I wanted to get the experts' opinions before I get started...

Thanks,

Ryan

if it's built in I would say bookcase first then treat it like any other wall. this of course if its permanant and will never be moved.
