This Bruce Lock and Fold idea looks good.... and I'm thinking about using it.

I have a concrete slab.

Since this wood isn't glued or nailed down I'm concerned it will move/sink/make noise when walked on. I've walked on some laminate floors that do that and it is super annyoing and sounds cheap.

Does this feel/sound just like a real nailed/glued hardwood floor or does it make noise and move when you walk on it? (assuming the subfloor is flat to 3/16" over 10 feet)

What are the reasons you'd prefer to use a glued down floor vs this stuff?

Advantages/Disadvantages (other than the install speed/ease)?

Thanks

I don't feel that a floating floor if installed properly where the floor is leveled according to the specifications (most aren't), is notably discernible from a nailed floor to the average person. I feel that if they know it is or isn't there is a mental effect relating to the "realness" of a floor.

That is why I offer to glue down these floors for those customers. This is an option you could entertain as well. If you wanted the floor prep is about the same. Level the floor 3/16" over 10', or less than 1/8" over 6', and cleaned of contaminates.

On the other hand, it is less expensive and easier to install a floating floor.

It comes down to customer expectations and desires.

I feel that a hardwood direct glued to concrete is a bit "hard" under foot.
