1st off, great site!
I am an HVAC'er by trade and I think Im pretty well mechanically inclined.
I'm finishing an 800sq.ft. bonus game room and want to hardwood about 450 sq. ft. in the pool table area.
While I was out of town 1 1/2 months ago my wife went to a flooring store and purchased these hardwoods as a surprise.
I had a contractor hired to install them, but he keeps putting off the job the past 2 weeks! I've been thinking that I could probably do this myself with some guidance, but have little knowledge of where to start.

1. I know I need to sand the joints in my subfloor and also cover the floor with tar paper.
2. I have an idea of how to start the laying process with being square against a wall.
3.I dont know exactly what tools I need for the job. I currently have a table saw, miter saw, finish nailer and air compressor and various other tools.
Could you pros give me some tips and possibly tell me what specific tools to rent? Sanders and nailers/staplers?

If you need any HVAC advise, that is my specialty!

Thanks in advance...

Most manufacturers especially Bruce have detailed instructions in the boxes. Have you looked there yet? Incidentally some of their engineered products are glue down only.
