Just wanted to give a heads up that the Bruce by Armstrong that I am installing is a total nightmare..

Lots of boomerangs in there . I had to drive a chisel in front of the tongues of many boards and pry the boards into place before I could staple them . And it's taking forever.

On another note , the nesting sucks . There's some boxes with no long boards at all .Not a good thing. And lastly, I will never give a home owner the opportunity to do this to me again .All this guy does is complain about the choice "" HE" made . He went cheap and wants everyone else to pay for it .

I'm not sure. The home owner says "Dundee" but I'm not certain of that . I installed Dundee plank before and it was actually pretty good. I have a tag from one of the boxes .I'll try to decipher what it means.

Thanks for the heads up. I also have had some really crappy nesting with them. Let us know which it is.

The labels on the boxes all say "CB1234" Solid Oak Made in USA by Armstrong Hardwood Flooring Company . The color is fawn which is definitely one of the Dundee series colors and it is white oak so it seems that this is all Bruce Dundee white oak pre finished.

What a complete pain in the rear end . It took me 2 days to get this installed in a 230 square foot room.I should have refused to install it.

The house is air conditioned so we let the material acclimate to 7 percent like the sub floor .If anything , the flooring should have shrunk and been easier to install.

As it is , I already bow out of any LL installs. I don't want the head ache. BUt now I think Bruce is on my list of "do not installs"

Certainly at 7% mc any engineered or solid should be doable. Makes me wonder what the hell they are doing in the kilns when even engineered starts warping at 7%. Heck, I am down below that many times. Then I have to explain the history of wood science to customers.

Add Turman to that do not install list I'm in the middle of an 800 footer. square ends wit way to much overwood and lots of damaged boards right out of the boxes not to mention the millions of shorts.

I even had problems with Turman unfinished wood. I used some of their 2 1/4" white oak and the bundles were almost all medium to short lengths.Never again

Ive joked about starting a angies list for contractors. I know of one particular floor here in town that has been refinished by 4 different outfits each trying it two or three times each. I think the first guy got paid but thats it! The homeowner has real high expectations on his black floor that not just anyone can do.
