I'm considering 5" Brazilian Teak Camaru from Peru (Not BR111 as I have read so many nightmare stories). The company says I must understand that 5" is more susceptible to buckling or cupping and does not recommend it when pushed. I love the look but don't want to regret it. Any particular manufacturer you would recommend for this floor? Is BR111 as bad as it seems online? Is 5" a bit "risky"?

Thank you so much.

Cumara is very susceptible to movement and the wider you go the worse it gets, you may have better luck with an engineered product but it can still create the issues.

I always say, do as the Brazillians do, buy local/native hardwood.

You bet threre's problems with that stuff. So why risk it?
