Hello,
First post, I am about to install a brazilian cherry floor in my home, I have never installed a hard wood floor before, so..... Any way what is the best way to put it down? cleats or staples? 0.75" thick x 3.25" wide.
Thanks

Thanks Dan

I use a Powernail 445. I think the cleats are better although more expensive then staples, others will disagree. staples tend to split the tongue more often then cleats especially on harder exotic woods.

IF for some reason you do use a stapler like the botch M3 , the real issue is to use one that is in good working order. Many contractors let the stapler go to long before replacing the rubber inside and that causes the M3 to staple inconsistently. My newest Bostich M3 is about 2 years old and has not split any tongues on my installs so far.

Yes that is a good gun. The N in FN refers to nailer or cleat

The Bostich guns are good and they are available at most rental shops.
