Can anyone tell me how long before the Triangulo BR111 Engineered Brazilian Cherry changes to a darker shade after being exposed to UV rays? I know it starts to change immediately but how long before it reaches say 80% of its shade change.

Secondly, BR111 says when laying an engineered floor you need to make the first row all 4 foot strips then the second row 3 foot strips then 2 foot strips then 1 foot. I know that makes it strongest but do you guys really think that is necessary?

Color change will vary depending on the amount of sunlight. Most do 75% of there change within the first 9 months. On the 4 then 3 then 2 then 1 sounds a little extreme to me. Must be how they pack the ctns? I would be comfortable with any combo as long as the end joints are staggard by 6-8" never heard of anyone having an issue by doing it that way yet.

I agree with Kevin. Usually those type of instructions will only pertain to a floating installation. Which I have been told maintains the integrity of the whole floor. Are you floating this or gluing it?

I will be floating the floor unless my wife talks me out of it.

Does BR111 have separate instructions for floating and gluing as far as their recommended board placements for stagger? Some manufacturers, mainly plastic laminates, will have a specified stagger they want you to follow. Wilsonart Estate Plus specifies a stair step stagger like you mentioned.

Call them up and ask them to be real clear on this.
