We just finished laying 500 sq ft of our gorgeous egineered flooring in the living room. Glue down with Bostiks EF. Looks fantastic. Took all the excellent advice from the experts here at the board. Thank you all! Used the big cardboard sheet under the glue bucket - Duct tape on the trowel - Undercut the rock fireplace - even used the little gadget to suck up the dust! Rented the roller, etc. Looks great.

One 1' x 1' area is a problem. there is a little dip/spongy feel when you step on it. I'm quite sure we didn't get a connect with the glue/wood. This was our first section to lay. Everywhere else is firm and stuck. My question:

Can we fix? Inject glue in a drilled hole then putty?

Will this cause damage to the rest of the floor? Failure?

I would really not worry about it except it is right in front of the entrance of our master bdrm. I step on it each night! Thanks!

A 1 x 1 is not a problem for just a single hollow spot, but you said it has give to it.

Yes, you should inject that small area.

Yes, it does have some give to it. It's right where two boards join and when you step on it they bend into the center of each other. It's not end to end, but side to side - long side.

It's about a foot length of give.

If not located in a major traffic lane; Live with it. If in a traffic lane.. Inject it. One foot long area may require three or so holes/injections depending on the volumn of glue required to fill the void.

I agree with Ray. If your not constantly walking on it, you will never have a problem.

Thank you both. I'm noticing as time goes on it doesn't seem as soft.
