Hello,
I'm thinking of installing a few hundred sq. ft. of Appalachian Windswept Whispering Wind 3/8" engineered wood in the upstairs foyer and bedrooms of an old victorian house. I am planning on using a Bostitch MIIIFS to do the nailing. Does anyone know if I will run into problems because of the thickness of the wood (3/8")? I know the Bostitch comes with baseplates for 1/2" and 3/4" hardwood flooring.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

That would be too big a gauge staple to use on a 3/8" engineered, could cause dimpling the wear layer. I think you would need a smaller 18ga. 1/4" crown, trigger activated stapler for that. I use the Spotnails gun that will work on 3/8", 1/2" and 9/16" engineered. Shoots up to a 1 3/8" fastener.

Bostitch makes a nailer for 3/8 wood. Actually, it is factory set for Bruce 3/8 strip hardwood. I believe the model number is SX-150-fh or something like that. Home Depot rentals actually has them. Or you can purchase for around 230.00
