Hello all - new to this board and I have a specific question.

I want to install 5/8" engineered bamboo flooring and was wondering
your experience/opinion on the Bostitch LHF97125-2 Floor Runner Stapler. If you are unfamiliar with this model, it shoot up to 1" long, 3/16-inch crown 20-gauge staples and is recommended for 1/4 to 1/2" flooring.

I will be nailing to a plywood subfloor. I have done some experiments
with a sample and nailed to the floor and it seemed to hold solidly. However I have read that many people are using 2" staples for the same
thickness flooring.

Any opinions out there on this? Am I crazy thinking this will work?
What are the downsides?

I am thinking I could compensate the lack off depth with frequency of
fasteners (i.e. more and closer together.

Your opinion are appreciated.

K

You seriously need a stapler capable of shooting a 1½" 18 gauge staple
The HighPro AS4090 will be the ideal gun for your needs.

Thanks for the lead on this. It looks like a nice piece of equipment -
wish I had found this one first.

I found one on the web for about $275 - Does this sound about right?
Could not find too many online dealers, however.

I would be interested in hearing other opinions (pro or con) on this stapler
or any others people have used.

Thanks again.
