This forum has been tremendously helpful, but I can see there are some differences of opinion on products!
I've posted about my need to degloss a prefinished maple floor. I've gotten advice on products and today had a contractor come out for an estimate.
Based on advice I've received, I specifically requested Bona Naturalle. He said he has worked with Bona, and said it could be done via screen and recoat, although he kept referring to Bona Traffic. The other product I was considering was Street Shoe matte. He could also put that down. I sense he is willing to use whichever I ask for. However, I just looked at my earlier posting and see a contractor is blasting Naturalle...saying it is overhyped...and suggesting Street Shoe or Traffic. Now I am completely confused, so I'll pitch the question this way: If you were going to refinish a maple prefinished hardwood floor, without sanding, and the customer wanted the most matte and durable finish possible, which product would you recommend? Street Shoe, Bona Traffic, or Bona Naturalle? Thanks for your opinions.

Bona's naturalle is matte traffic really no difference to normal traffic besides the sheen, the dullest sheen is a toss up between super matte and naturalle. Any of the aforementioned products are top of the line and will out last most other polys. Keep in mind they all wear and they all scratch there is no bullet proof floor finish, take care with regular maintenance and they will last a long long time.

I agree Naturelle is thee same as traffic. It also has a hardener that is added and it is just as durable. I personally use Bona products but have heard nothing but good about street shoe as well. I think you can't really go wrong either way.

One noteworthy advantage of Bona's naturalle over Basic's Street SHoe is that the Naturalle/ Traffic can be applied very heavy on the floor . I spread 1 gallon at about 380 sq feet. With Street Shoe, you cannot spread it that thick or it will bubble and then skin over the bubbles.

So based on build thickness, the Naturalle, applied with the Bona roller nice and heavy will outlast a thinner coat of Street Shoe. The street shoe is a very good product though. Nearly as tough as Bona Naturalle/Traffic but it can't be spread as thickly.
