Just had new hardwood floors put down. Red oak select. 2 1/4 inch.?
They are beautiful. The finisher put down 2 coats of Bona seal on 800 sq. ft. one coat of Bona Mega ( 2 gallons) and one coat of Bona Traffic (2 gallons) What we had agreed on was to use 2 coats of the Traffic. I was out of town when they did it. Will the floor amber over time since they used the Bona Mega? Also on the stairs treads, (36 inches long, from 30 to 40 little back bumps) they have a few small black sanding grit (that is what my husband says it is) Should I have them refinish that or just let it go?

The coat of Mega they snuck in will not be a problem on Red Oak. Tell them they owe you a recoat on the stairs, there is probably no reason to refinish, a light sanding should pull the 'grit' out. Don't let them sneak Mega on the stairs.

Mega does not equate to Traffic. They cheated you on the agreement for 2 coats of Traffic. You should rightfully request another topcoat.
