You guys have warned me that Bona Traffic and Emulsion, with their added catalyst hardners, are for pros only. (I'm planning on water-based poly over Waterlox.) I now see that Bona has a "new" Bonatech Mega and Basic has something called Emulsion that they claim are still excellent but are not limited to pros only.
Does anyone have any experience with these to know if they are any better than big box store Minwax/Varathane/Parks Pro?
These two companies also list a combined water / oil finish. If this is better than the two water-based products listed above, would they be okay over Waterlox?

My first line should have read "Bona Traffic and Basic Street Shoe."

Emulsion is a poor final coat. It isn't as durable as your average oil-based poly. Mega is a little better but not a lot. Mega is a decent single component water-based poly. I can't say if it's "better" than Varathane, who knows? If I had to choose a single component readily available to the general public, I guess Mega would be my choice. It does have a slight amber cast to it. BTW, your Waterlox coating most be absolutely dry. Wait at least three days, preferably more.

Thanks, Gary. This is just what I needed to know. And the last little tidbit about waiting that long for the Waterlox to dry was an eye opener. I was planning only about 48 hours.
