I'm a first-time DIYer and looking back on the work I did yesterday I noticed a potential problem. I'd really appreciate some advice as to what my next step should be. The floor I'm installing is 3/4 in birch, prefinished.
I moved out my fridge and layed 3/4 in plywood down, figuring that it wouldn't be seen (it won't). The first board I nailed down under the fridge abutts the plywood with no allowance. Of course I've put down several rows since because I didn't catch my error. So I have two questions...
Is this going to be a problem or can I get away with it? The plywood has an allowance on the rest of its border. The row only has one other board in it, and that board has a proper allowance at its other end.
If it's a problem, what should my next step be? If I move the fridge a bit, I think I could cut away some of the plywood to give that board end a proper allowance. This would be practically invisible.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

It shouldn't be a problem.

It sounds as though your floor is running towards the plywood so that you have end joints touching it. If that is the case, you have no problem since wood expands across the face of the boards, not lengthwise.
