The picture is pretty fuzzy. I can't tell.

Usually a board replacement is in order, on a prefinished floor.

Is that something that is warranted?

By the installer.

Each board needs to be examined, before placement, especially with a BRUCE floor.

I have been lucky, and never had to replace a board, yet... Knock on wood.

Good luck matching the finish.

I bet ya $10,000, I can replace that board, before you are finished sanding. Even on a gluedown.

Thanks floor guy, this is nailed with 2" nails, I will probably make 3 cuts, 1. 1/2" in from side
2. 1/2" in from othe side
3. from one end of 1st cut to 2nd end of 2nd cut making a z, then use a chisel to open up the cavity leaving 1/2" on 3 sides, only 3 since the 4th is the end cut against the wall, then just carefully chisel away the rest until I have a smooth open cavity of the length and width of the bad plank, then I will cut off the tounge of the replacement, glue and face nail and it should be perfect.
What do you think?

sounds like a plan.

If you don't want to top nail, you can glue it in, with two beads of adhesive. One down each side of the board.

Gluing is perfectly OK for a single board replacement.

Take pictures so you can document why you had to remove that board, incase the top nails come into question.
