As much as I like my 15" inch Clark, it seems like the 15's are a thing of the past; there seem to be more options availible for the 16". Can I just swap out the shroud and hardplate on my 15"? I've wanted to modify mine for use with a vac, maybe do both in one swell foop? ( or is that, one fell swoop?)

Yep! I have an older 15" as well and use a 16" driver block. Was thinking the same thing but how to modify the base? May not be necessary if using dust collection shroud. Let me know what you come up with!

I was using the shop buffer; a Suretech 16". My Clark is an older Vantage Line. What I liked about the Suretech, was the nice soft bumper around the shroud, and it seemed the extra diameter helped getting under the toekicks.
It looks to me, that its a matter of taking off the four bolts that hold on the shroud to the buffer motor, bolt on a new one and go. Seems to be simple enough. I made my last hardplate; cutting additonal rings to give me any needed height, (for the new deeper shroud to help with dust control) seems easy enough.
First though, I need to solve the problem of it not working at all. I was using it, ran fine, then I tried again, and nothing, dead. Gotta go dig out the voltmeter, and see what is what. It's always something, isn't it?
