I am looking for very thin stain markers to get in between the boards. The standard size that the manufacturer sent are way too large to do this. Any ideas where I might be able to find these?

Andy:

Any wood stain will work. Have you considered just dipping a rag into a stain can and rubbing it in? Works good for scratch repair. What's the intended purpose? Major problem, minor?

I have a dark engineered wood floor. It just splinters a lot. I like the convenience of a marker. You might say I am a stain spiller. It's kind of a pain each time you see a little ding to get the stain out.

I used to be able to find a fine tipped stain marker but cannot find them anymore either. Those fat ones don't get into recesses very easy. So I get a Q-tip and hammer it flat.

Ive found that sharpies work well for knicks and splinters. You will have to go to an art supply store like hobby lobby or the like to find the right colors but mine here locally has all kinds of colors with all kinds of tips and sizes.

Like Keven said...Sharpies. I carry them in my truck, to touch up planks out of the box,( spots of manuf. staining defects, mainly on distressed). They make a brown color that works on a number of stain colors.

The Minwax pens work well.

The tip is spring loaded and you push down and the stain flows out. This will flood hard to reach areas. Then just wipe the excess.
