I'm getting ready to install 6" yellow pine planks using blind nailing (or stapling) but some of the posts, here, say face nailing or gluing it the right way to install planks. Now I'm wondering if I'm heading in the wrong direction. What's your opinion?

A 6"board will shrink and swell in dimensions, twice as much as a 3" board.

If your humidity inside is constant all the time, and I mean constant, you won't have any issues what so ever.

This glue and fasten thing, is all new, in the last couple of years. I really don't see what it is suppose to do?? Glue is not going to keep a 6" wide board from cupping, or expanding, or shrinking.

I say a good moisture meter, hygrometer, and a good humidify/dehumidify system, and you will be good to go, as long as the system runs continuously.

I guess I'll go with my original intent of blind nailing. Whether I use nails or staples will depend on the nailer I rent. I live in the boonies and have only two rental places. One has a manual nailer and the other sis getting a new nailer but I don't what brand or type.

I would not say our humidity is constant, so I'll be investing in a dehumidifier mainly for under the house which is a pier and beam. I'm crossing my fingers on this one.

Thanks for all the help you're giving.
