We've been researching and planning our flooring project for a while now with the plan to start in the fall when the humidity in NW Florida (Destin area) is mid-range. After reading just about every post on this board and every page on this site, I was just wondering if there is an OPTIMAL time to lay a floor -- we're planning on laying an engineered floor on concrete slab. Is fall optimal? Does it matter so much with an engineered floor? We cannot (will not) maintain rh in winter since we LOVE finally being able to breathe air that isn't swampy once the weather gets cooler.

With Florida it doesn't matter what time of the year, providing the installation environment is good. Good meaning dry and not raining outdoors with the windows and doors open. Many confuse Florida with high humidity in the winter months which isn't true. Sure we get a few rainy days in a row where the Rh is 100% but most of the time it's 30-60%.

I don't know many that don't run the AC most of the year(April to October/November) so you would be installing the floors in the right conditions.
