1 - What places have the best prices on engineered hardwood? I found builddirect but anyone know any place with better prices?

2- What engineered hardwood BRANDS looks the best (least like laminate-most like hardwood) for under $4 a sq ft?

(topic is BRANDS that LOOK the best. Topic is NOT what brands hold up to wear the best, etc—thankyou in advance for staying on topic.) I appreciate the help.

There are a slew of sites out there selling cheap. hursthardwoods specializes in cabin grade. That may be a place to look.

I've not shopped BD but everything I've bid on installation wise was imported cheap junk.

They have to have some decent products. After all why would someone pay seven bucks a square foot for junk? At least I think some of their products are priced in the low 7's.

Jessica:

You could also look at Simple Floors and IFloor. You'd probably get the best prices at IFloor because it's Chinese owned last I knew. Another one could be Pinnacle as they eliminated the middleman a few years back, bringing prices way down.

Engineered wood floors costs from 4 to 10$ per sq ft based on quality, installation adds 3 to 5$ per sq ft and removal of old flooring costs around 2$. If you have good DIY skills, remove your old floor and choose unfinished engineered flooring to finish the floor yourself which can save you about 2 - 4$ per sq ft. There are some brands that sell mostly cheap stuff under 4$ per sq ft, you probably get what you pay for.
