Hello,

Kindof a silly question to ask, but I was wondering what kind of floor finish of all products available allows you to slide the farthest on socks across a hardwood floor.

For those of us who haven't grown up.

This reminds me of the first longstrip floor I helped install. It was the glue up type before much click lock floors were available. Our crew installed about 700 sf of the stuff on the first day and left with only a few rips and some pretty significant squeeze back from the glue to clean. Well the next day we send the "new guy" over by himself to the job to start cleaning up and somebody gave him a bottle of bostics adhesive remover to help get the glue up. Well the guy got tired of scraping and found an old sponge mop in the closet and decided to mop the stuff on to speed things up. Well as you can imagine after he flooded the floor with the stuff the floor was so slick you could skate on it with one foot. It was a bit comical at first untill we tried to get the stuff off. That was when I decided never to install a glue up floater again.

4 Coats of Waterlox Tung Oil. (Includes 2 - Origional sealer and 2 - Satin tung oil finish) Very SLICK. Heck go for it and put down 5 or 6 coats.

Also think high buildup Sweedish finish (Pallman or Synteko) also a slick surface.

HAVE FUN 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

All of them if you have a long enough starting area. Give yourself enough room to get moving like a bat outa hell and you should achive maxim distance. Try a good new pair of socks to . Sounds like I know what I am talking about huh . A secret every big house I have done since I was a kid / still am , I always take a good slide before the final coat . Unless ofcourse its handscraped  Trust me enough launching pad and there is distance.
