Hello,

We are in the market for some engineered hardwood flooring and really like the look of several of the Bella Cera products. However, I can't find much info about this company and I'm pretty sure the product is manufactured in China, which based on extensive internet research seems to be a big no no. Has anyone here heard of this brand? We are starting to think they just have good marketing that we are falling for. If anyone has any input or experience with Bella Cera it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I too am looking at Bella Cera engineered hardwood and think I'm about to pull the trigger on it. We want Hickory and really like the look of their handscraped. It looks more random than other brands (some brands look wavy). We have looked at some American made companies like Shaw and Anderson but we hate the rotary peeled cuts. The grain does not look nature to us. Bella Cera is made in China but they do standard slice cuts so the grain looks exactly like solid hardwood. My buddy installs a good amount of Bella Cera and he really like the quality of the pieces (very little to no scrap).

We also looked at Bella Cera Acacia flooring but it scratched too easy. I could push my finger nail in it at places.

If you look at their website they use different brand names for different regions. Like Palmetto Road for the east coast and California Classics for the west.

Thanks for the reply. We've actually gone the other direction. Haven't decided on a floor yet but have definitely ruled out Bella Cera or anything else manufactured in China.

What I was really hoping to see was a professional who has been a member of this forum for awhile who had some experience with this brand. Nobody seems to. Anywhere. That's interesting.

Ok I'll fess up. I recently did this one http://www.californiaclassicsfloors.com ... oring.aspx in Kazalla or what ever look. It's also quarter sawn face. Beautiful look if you like rustic.

Have to say I was impressed but it also was character grade meaning large knot holes filled with black epoxy. It was installed on an 80,000 acre old cattle ranch south of Tucson with an elevation of 5,000 feet above sea level in the mountains. The owner took three months to pick it out, took another month and a half to get here from china. LOL Only time will tell if it holds up

See some pics of it here, sorry the house was really dark. About nine pics back. https://www.flickr.com/photos/13772863@N08/

It's definitely all about the marketing. Identical videos, different product names. Makes you feel warm and fuzzy eh? So it's the same product eh? Interesting.

I know Tony Robison in these videos. No idea how he got involved with them. Has heavy involvement with the NWFA. That's a plus for Bella Cera...I think.

also sold under the "palmetto road" name. I like there scraping and finishing. Just not anything over 60" long and most lengths under 4' in the solids.

I didn't even know they had a solid line?

If I was looking for a floor and had no knowledge of flooring. I don't know what I would do. How does one install a floor with so many short pieces and make it look good? Of course whoever tried to put this floor sample together didn't know what they were doing.

Just an update. We opted against Bella Cera (and anything else made in China) and are going with Shamrock brand engineered flooring; either the Irish Pub House or German Gasthaus product.
