Hello group, I am getting ready to finish my floor. I only have a closet and the hallway to finish. Anyway, when I started this project I removed some baseboard. It wasn't too substantial, I don't know what the material was exactly. Sort of like a heavy duty cardboard, or pressed wood of some sort. My home is 10 years old. I had plans on reusing the trim and paint it. Now my floor looks so good, I thought about maybe buying some pine and staining it to try to match my new hardwood floors. My old baseboard was about 3" tall and you can see a faint line around the room where it previously was even scraping and painting. Or else I could try some quarter round, so I will have to go with something simular to my old product.

My question is, I do not have square 90 degree walls. They have rounded corners, it may be out of the scope of this forum if so I apologize. The corner pieces I removed on each and every corner was molded in a curve on the back side for the corners. Do you know if you can buy that piece in pine or even oak, or is it something a contractor makes specifically for the project? If it is sold individually do you know the name of it. I could just run two pieces of wood square to the curved wall and fill with wood filler, but I think it would sort of look strange.

Anyway hopefully somebody knows what I am talking about and how to tackle it. Thanks alot, you have been a very good resourse for my first hardwood project...

Round outside corners are available in oak, pine, etc., from suppliers that specialize in mouldings.

In the early 80's the "rounded" wall corners became popular. Before the moulding manufacturers came out with round corners.....we would cut 22 1/2 degree plugs for each corner.

Thanks alot for the comment floorologist. You gave me some good information. My wife said the corners were called bullnose. Between that and round outside corners terminology, I have googled some useful information. Thanks again..
