Hi - I posted a few years ago about our house in Phoenix that has a very bad moisture or RH problem. This is the post:

http://www.hardwoodflooringtalk.com/forum/bamboo-nightmare-phoenix-t8442.html

Now, almost four years later we are renting the house out and the floors have gotten really bad (pics below). We obviously have a problem and are planning on ripping up the floors. My question is what flooring can we install, that will survive this kind of a moisture problem? Is tile the best option? Can we put carpet in the bedrooms? Is there any contractor or company that will actually guarantee their work?

Once we tear up the floors we will be able to see the slab and hopefully address any issues with cracks or other obvious defects. Obviously we don't want to spend a ton of money and have the problem come back.

Any ideas?? Our current thinking is to go with ceramic or porcelain tile and carpet in the bedrooms, with moisture protection underneath.

If anyone is in Phoenix and can recommend someone for demo, slab, or install work I would really appreciate it.

Best,

I assume that your house is slab on grade construction. You must first solve the problems as to how the water is getting beneath your slab. Perhaps defective gutters and downspouts or grading around your house.
I know that Arizona has been experiencing heavy rains recently.

Ceramic tile set in thinset over the concrete slab would certainly be a better solution. but if you have that much water under your slab, the water will seep up.
