Bamboo is very stable meaning that it moves very little. The reason: it is made up of thin strips of the material so it is considered an hybrid engineered; it is not cross ply laminated. It will cup with excessive moisture. However, since it is made overseas, quality is all over the place; from great to lousy. Buy only from dependable sources.

It's not always so stable and when it does grow, it's every which way.
As Gary says "buy only from dependable source", and make sure you follow all their directions.

Bamboo swells and shrinks in all 6 directions. Top, bottom, side to side and length to length.

When it first hit the market, there were some that were still alive and growing! It didn't grow limbs but it grew in the lengths tremendously.

thanks for the coments, i have looked around different areas to see if it expands and contracts with moisture in width or length more, sounds like it just goes everywhere. Im just not that familiar with bamboo
thanks again
