by the way. After visiting with this nice lady, it was decided that she did not need an inspection. She already knows the sources of the water and the cause of the failure. She needs an engineer to help repair the problems of water and moisture intrusion, not an inspector. Taking money from a consumer who already knows the problem and has no intention of using the court system for financial relief and damages would be wrong and a waste of her money.
Very nice lady searching for the answers to repair the home.
The home was built in the 1970's, which means the slab is sitting directly on the ground and not raised to give good drainage away from the side of the slab. My guess is the soil level on the perimeter of the home is near to top level of the interior slab.

I know this post is old, but I would just like to chime in here for the sake of people doing research on bamboo floors. I wish there would have been more experiences out there when I was shopping around.

In regard to the mold issue, I would like to postulate that solid hardwood bamboo flooring might also be the culprit besides the weather and engineering of the site. I have some samples of the Cali Bamboo Java Wide T&G and Click that I got in December and it is now March and they are covered in mold. I live in Hawaii, so mold sure likes to make it's appearance, but nothing else has mold on it, even a particle board desk nearby that I do have to watch for mold growth. Maybe these floors are better suited for dry environments?

Frankly I see a large number of installers, who amazingly, have been installing for a lot of years and who seldom if ever read the manufacturer's requirements or the NWFA guidelines. It almost always leads to failure, or maybe I just think so because most inspectors only see failure, and is blamed on everyone but the person who does the installing.
Frankly if they now say this, that and the other thing is causing your problem I would say you have a strong case to get this rectified.
