Hello all, new to this forum.
The project is on the ice, I simply dont know how to tackle this. Here it goes.

In my daughter (futur) bedroom is a tile floor (exibit A) with a metal strip-thing on the butt end(metal strip is hard to see sry). I will be installing 5/8 bamboo, on the final, the tiles will be 3/8 HIGHER than the bamboo itself (exibit B). Some told me to put a reducer but it will look real bad i guess, cant I caulk-grout this? are is it possible to shim?

I know some of you might suggest to simply shim the subfloor, but with everything so far (had to pay twice for the plumbing!!! nightmare) I do not have any money left, so I would like to find a relatively low cost solution to this. And my daughter is losing patience, the bamboo floor is sitting there for a whole year now!

Regards

Hi Ken,

the url is one of the first informational web page I had found at the start of my questioning. I simply didnt realise at the time that a forum was present!

But the information is for what I believe the butt-end of the hardwood floor, my tiles are on the long side of the plank, I dont believe this tricks can apply?

And related to the link provided, isnt it necessary to leave a gap between the marble threshold and the hardwood butt-end?

Thanks.
