I am looking at buying a moisture meter for my bamboo flooring.
Have found an affordable one with 4 pins. The seller believes bamboo might be too hard a wood to get the pins in.

Any experience with this :?:
Thanks

I purchased a mini Ligno meter for my install of Tiete Rosewood. According to this: http://www.hardwoodinstaller.com/hardwo ... rdness.htm

Tiete Rosewood ranks in at 2800 on the Janka hardness scale and Natural Bamboo (though it varies widely) chimes in at 1410.

My experience with the meter is that sticking it into OSB takes no effort, sticking it into the oak trim I removed took just a bit of pressure, sticking it into the tiete took effort, care, and patience.

I found myself slowly rocking the meter from side to side in order to insert the pins.

Ensure that the correction offset, for bamboo (if there is one) is known for that particular meter.
