What do you think? 90 inches of water lift!! That is more than every other vac I have seen. They say it will catch two big machines at the same time and runs on 110 power.

full disclosure: I sell these things, but I am just fishing for testimonials from people who have actually seen one. The initial production of a couple hunrded units is already sold, so I won't even see mine till next year.

Chuck I am interested in hearing some response as well. One thing I was told is if you run a b2 or 7r none of those dcs units do a excellent job, well I guess I should say the edger wasnt designed with dust containment in mind so its sort of the cart before the horse kinda thing. Dont get me wrong it makes a huge diffrence I am sure, but if you want full preformance you need to run their edger as well. I think witha little modification the clark edgers would do better, a smaller disc pad maybee with some sort of skirt is what I was thinking? anybody?

You bring up a valid point with the edger issue, Kevin. I think it is a promblem with the edger design, though.
If I remember correctly, Oneida says their system will not totally catch a super 7.

Bona engineers all of their tools backwards. By that I mean they start with the dust containment idea and work backwards. The bona edgers are closed off except for a port right at the place where the edger is cutting.(right around 2 o'clock.)

That Big Viking edger is the best I have ever used. It combines the power of a 7r with the functionality of the Lagler. There are a lot of edgers I have never used, though. I have always been a super 7 guy.

Chuck and Kevin,

To improve the dust pick-up on the edger, put a skirt on the edger.

I bought a Lagler Randmeister edger 20 years ago for sanding toekicks. It has/had a felt skirt and was designed that way. High maintainence however. Always replacing that felt skirt. The balance is crappy for anything but toekicks but it is built to last. My Super7 is my edger of choice. Did you know you can get 6&7/8" discs for it? That may improve dust collection as well. I did not care for how the Bona edger felt when sanding with it. Seems to me if Clarke sells DCS systems, their equipment should work with them. The problem with the Super7 I think, is surpassing the volume of air being drawn in by the internal fan. Either one needs a higher volume or reduce the existing fan's efficiency for an external vacumm to work. Just my thoughts.

I use the soft half of velcro. It is a peel and stick type and you have to change it every so often but it work fine.

We have a clarke CAV 26 for a demo this week and it does a great job with a B2 and a lagler Elan running at the same time. The rep from Ampro showed us how to install a velcro skirt and it works great. The vac also does a great job with a hummel. It does not do such a great job with the hummel and the B2 connected. So I say what good is the Vac if it will not contain the dust from 1 belt/drum machine and 1 edger at the same time? I feel like it would take 2 Vacs in order for the job to be done dust free. At 5K each, and four 20 amp circuits required to run the Vacs and the edgers, all of the hoses and cords, and, and, and..... WOW! Any help out there?

Thanks,
Brendan
