I bought 1200 feet of 5" maple from Armstrong. It's 3/8 inch engineered. It will go on an extra layer of TG ply. So,what guns do the best job on a staple install. And what size staples do they use. When I do a new thing I always rely on forums.Thank you much for the info.

This should be in your box. http://www.armstrong.com/pdbupimages/1623188103.pdf

They say to use a 20ga stapler, Bostitch floor runner. Which in my opinion is OK if you have new underlayment. But you can go 18ga.

I'd go with 18 gauge, 1 1/4". 20 gauge is a flimsy wire  How do you say...Creeeeek

Thanks guys.I feel comfortable with 11/4" 18 ga.Do you feel that's the best for 3/4" TG ply.Any benefit to using longer staples?

1 1/4" is plenty plenty of length. You may run into a problem sinking a longer fastener.
