Hello All,
It is great reading all the great info on this site. By far the best site I have located so far because it contains useful information, not just a sales pitch. Anyway to my question.
I live in the Phoenix area (Mesa, Arizona) and I am looking at installing some bamboo flooring (about 500 sq ft). My wife and I both love the look. But from some of the things I have read I am worried about the lack of humidity in this area. Will the arid climate be a problem and cause things like cupping and other types of warping problems?
Also, I would be laying it directly onto my concrete slab. What are the disadvantages to doing a floating floor instead of glueing it down? I worry a bit about another one of my pipes leaking and needing to rip up the entire floor because it is glued down. Or can I just cut and splice like a floating floor.
Actually, what I am looking for is some advise on what kind of floor to lay and how to attach it. If you knowledgable guys can give your 2 cents worth it would be greatly appreciated. Would I be better off with some sort of engineered floor, or real wood instead of bamboo? (or tile, but my wife won't hear of it, and I can't seem to say no to her
) Thanks for any help you can provide!
