I was told by my supplier that I got a bundle of clear grade white oak. but I am concerned that the color variation is too big to be called "clear", can the experts on this board take a look at my pictures and help me out? Thanks a lot!!! I had a water damage and I need to replace the floor.

I tried to post images but it won't let me (maybe I don't know how to do it correctly), so I post the links here, hope that's OK.

Is that prefinished? Not sure who's definition of "clear" they are using, but definitely not Nofma clear. Looks like #1 common and better.

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, these are prefinish (natural finish, no stain).

Why you think they are not NOFMA "CLEAR"?

When you said "#1 Common" and better, what does that mean? you mean it could be #1 Common, Select or Clear (all NOFMA definition of course)?

Nope, that is not Clear grade white oak. Maybe #1 common but unlikely it would even be acceptable as Select grade.

NOFMA Clear Grade would have no knots or mineral streaks. The coloring would be very even.I noticed the link to your pictures has the word/term "zhuohua.haung". Quite possibly from a Chinese manufacturer, which typically does not comply with NOFMA grading guidelines. Sometimes when I see Chinese imports, the species is even labeled incorrectly. If it doesn't look like the old floor, it isn't the same.

Thanks guys, so basically you all think the color variance is too big? Unfortunately it is not a Chinese imported product, it is made in the Midwest. I will get back to my supplier and demand an answer. Thank you all for your help.
