Looking into this product, has anyone worked with it before?

Hi,
I know this is old but I'm curious if you ended up choosing this flooring and how you like it? I am considering it. It looks great but just a little nervous after finding a 4-page horror story thread about bamboo flooring last night. My sample seems VERY nice and hard - the only thing I did to it to make a dent was drop a fork from head height straight down - but that would damage pretty much any wood floor. I can't make any scratch in it easy and definitely it passes the fingernail test.

Thanks!

I read this off their website;

Quote:
In six months, a bamboo stalk's mature height and diameter are reached. After four years, the bamboo has physical and mechanical properties comparable to high-density timber, and can be harvested.

Sounds like a great product. One thing about poor quality bamboo is that it is harvested immaturely.

If I were to purchase bamboo for flooring I would buy from USfloors. They are the only U.S. manufacturer of bamboo flooring. Then if something were to happen your not taking the issue up with some company in China.

Never used it but it looks nice. I like Teragren brand bamboo.

I just installed some Ambient bamboo. Had some problems with the finish but they backed it and sent me some replacement boxes right away with no questions asked. i would try them again.

Thank you for your responses!

I was in the flooring store again today. I still really like that bamboo! One thing that kind of made me go 'hmmm' is when I asked them if they undercut fireplaces, they said they never heard of doing that and that they just cut around them. Does that sound normal, or should I look around at other places? I kind of live in BFE, so that might be why. :roll:

Thanks again :)

It's possible to under cut fireplaces / masonry . The Crane company makes an under cut saw that can do it with the proper masonry blade.
