This may seem trivial to you pros, but I know sometimes the little details will jump up and bite you, so here goes.

I milled my own tees (minus the lower portion of the tees) from the 3/4" solid flooring I am using, but I haven't installed the tees yet. I left 1-1/4" gaps where each tee goes (at 3 doorways). My tees are 2" wide and little over a 1/4" thick. Now I have NOT made the lower part of the tee yet, and that is why I am asking the question.

Would you attach the 1/2" wide X 3/4" high bottom portion of the tee to the upper part (gluing), OR would it be just as well if I just attached the 1/2" lower portion to the subfloor itself (on top of the 15# felt in my case) and space it half-way in the gap? I guess I would prefer the latter, but if you see different, please tell me so and why.

I really do appreciate you fellows.

Carl
