Hi everyone, my name is Mark and have been lurking around this forum for a few weeks and decided to register. I hope my introduction in this area of the forum is appropriate.

I am a DIY'er in the final stages of building a new house. It has been a long journey and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. (hopefully it is not yet another train) I never imagined that building approx. 1300 sq ft. with full walk out basement/2-1/2 car garage would still not be complete after a year and a half. (little was subbed out)

I have spent more than a few late night hours reading the discussions here. I have spent most of my time in the 'Yikes I have problems!' section as I am a firm believer that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I have somewhere around 900 sq ft of solid hardwood flooring to install in the near future. Since my experience installing wood flooring is quite limited, I am hoping to lean on the experience/professionalism the contributors to this forum possess. I also look forward to sharing any knowledge/experience I may have that would help out other members, if and when the opportunity arises.

Mark

Nice intro, welcome. Installing and especially finishing has a high learning curve. Most of the time it is best to hire a pro unless you already have some of these skills. But good luck to ya.
