I have a ground level concrete slab built in 1988. I would like some advice on the best method to have a hardwood floor.

Option 1
Engineered click type floating floor DIY (brand would be Kahrs)

Option 2
Hire a pro to install plywood on top of the slab then nail/staple solid hardwood. How would I compensate for the additional height to transition to carpet and ceramic tile?

Thanks

Hire a pro to prep the concrete for flatness, and then direct glue a good engineered.
