I'm strongly considering Allwood Flooring (engineered) Traditional Maple or American Hickory for a new construction project where the final value of the house will be about $1 million. I like the depth of the finish and the 3 mm wear layer, the 9/16" x 5" x 72" boards, and the price point at which I can buy (+/- $4-$4.50/SF via distributor). But I can't find reviews online of customers or installers who have worked with it, or photos of of an installation. Anyone have experience with this brand, or thoughts?

Well that wesr layer you mention is greater than any floor I've ever encountered, including 3/4 inch solid. Are you sure you got that right?

Dennis...sorry for the wear layer typo. I've corrected it to 3 mm. Here's the specs at the bottom of the page: http://www.allwoodimport.com/series/e1.php#maple. Any thoughts or experience with this brand?

I have never worked with nor heard of that brand, but it looks like a decent product. Also the boards aren't all 6 feet. It says RL 1'-6' meaning random length. Most likely the majority will be 2' and 3' a couple 6' and the rest 1' and 4' if they are like all the other brands.
