Hi again,
Remember me? I had all the problems with hollow spots due to a poor install. That job was for a friend and my own install starts on Monday. I am installing 2 9/16 Mirage, engineered Maple. It's a glue down, over concrete and Acoustitech. I think they are using Taylor glue. These are not the same installers I used before.
Of course I am having second thoughts regarding the thickness of my wood. I really wanted the 5" planks, but was afraid of cupping. I live in Chicago, in a high rise, across from lake Michigan. I don't like using air conditioning. I doubt I can change the order, as it's being delivered today.
Any final advice before the installers come? They have a moisture meter and will be checking the substrate for flatness. It may rain on Monday, can they still install? It's also supposed to be hot and humid. If I turn on the air conditioning, and then turn it off later, will that cause a problem? I want to make sure I do things right this time.
Thanks, Donna
