Hi,
I haven't seen many homes with all hardwood (live in Florida). It was suggested to me that instead of running the entire house all one direction to instead change directions to show room changes or at least run a board (perpendicular to floor direction) between the rooms to show room change.

Having never seen this... is this a popular touch?

What should I be considering? The wood will encompass two hallways, a great room, and two side rooms. It is Santos Mahagony engineered to be glued down on a slab.

Thanks!

Trio

Most people want the flooring to flow, room to room. The main reason for using header boards is so that more than 1 person can be installing at the same time without having to meet up anywhere.

Do people sometimes put a "border" between rooms for a custom look?

I was thinking of running the entire home's floor in the same direction but run a board perpendicular between rooms as a custom touch...
