 Post subject: Additional info wanted (2G vs 5G)

I am still evaluating several flooring options. For DIY projects, which would be easier to install? Flooring with 2G locking sytem or flooring with 5G locking sytem.

Installation wise, really no difference....the 5G has a retractable tongue on the end-match, so it's not free to pop back up like the 2G. But the mechanics of engaging the boards together are no different....insert the tongue on the side at a 45 deg angle, then push down...on the 5G you hear a click on the end,no end click on the 2G.

I don't see how the end can pop on a 2 G anyway unless its against the wall. But then base holds that down anyhoo.

During installation, not after. Sometimes the side match has a tendency to raise back up on the 2g.
