before i procede i thought i would seek advice. we bought cherry birch flooring. we would like to install in our condo which is second floor on concrete with some paint over spray on it. my question is can we gluedown and if so what do we need to prime the concrete with if anything to compensate for the paint. if this method works what sort of moisture barrier is recomended. secondly. i was told about the "dricore" subfloor system which seems fine and dandy and could be in our budget to do but then we are left with a transition problem between wood and ceramic tile of about 3/4 inch or better (whole new problem) Is 3/4 ply fastened with adhesive and nails suitable? would be a fair bit less expensive to go that route instead of dricore. any help would be appriceated

Your second floor condo subfloor is probably covered with gypcrete, not concrete. You cannot glue or nail to that. Your best bet is a floating floor OR a floating subflooring.
