After installing various floors with rental tools, I came across what appeared to be
a decent old drum sander, model name streamliner, by Holt, and purchased it.

While the drum appeared in good shape, the lock/unlock screw on teh right has sunken into its side, and a chunk of the rubber is missing. It is obvious that either a rebuild or replacement is needed, but the machine is really, really old and the tech that saw it says there may not be any parts available.

Being pretty handy, I am open for anything from instructions on how to rebuild to anyone who can do it without killing me on it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

I believe that machine was made in the 1930's  . I would be suprised if you can find replacement parts for that machine easily, but I could be wrong. You can have the drum resurfaced, but I don't know how much it would cost or if it would be worth doing to a machine of that age.

Thanks for the reply and yeah; it looks pretty old.
There is one similar to it on evilbay right now, only that one has the brass accents, and its a 220. and you are right, I am looking for someone who knows about rebuilding or replacing these drums. If anyone has info, I am stuck with an unusable machine and need it :(
The cool thing about that Holt streamliner is that is solid stainless and way heavier than the rental ones, so I would like to fix it if possible, not to mention that the thought of another project is not exactly undesirable to me at this time :P .
