Hi all,

I'm getting ready to purchase 900 sq ft of Brazilian Cherry 3-1/4 x 3/4" solid hardwood from Brazilian Direct. Has anyone had any experience with them? This is my first hardwood floor install. Any advice?

Thanks,
Brian

I have installed some flooring from there. It was pretty nice. But this was only one time. I would ask them to send you a sample. Maybe even order a box. Ask about the board lengths and the grade.

Having my flooring delivered this week and I have a few questions regarding tools and subfloor prep. Is 15 lb roofing felt a good underlayment for solid 3/4" Brazilian cherry hardwood? And for leveling the subfloor is it ok to just stack sheets of the felt paper?

1-3/4" 18 guage cleats OK? Any recommended flooring nailers?

Thanks,
Brian
