Does anyone have any leads on where I can find 5/16th solid (I guess engineered would work too) UNFINISHED oak flooring? I just need like 60 sq. ft. but can't seem to find it anywhere...everything is prefinished! Anyone have any ideas?

You will need to buy it from a wood flooring distributor who handles Lebanon Oak (the Manufacturer of 5/16" flooring). There are a few other small mills making it as well. Keep checking with the local flooring distributors. Most will sell to the general public but a few will not.

Thanks for the tip Gary, I'll have to check it out.

As for installing this stuff-can I do it with a pneumatic finish or brad nailer? Like I said it is only about 60 sq. ft (two large treads on my stairs where the stairway switches directions-all the other treads are solid oak) and I don't need it to be 100% perfect cause I will be putting a carpet runner down the center.

You can use a pneumatic finish nailer. The finish nails should be 1" long and 15 gauge. I use Senco and they have a finish nail called DA13. That's what I'd recommend. Lebanon has the nailing requirements on their website.

Sweet! Thanks.

Which type of wood filler to hide the nail holes do you reccomend? I've tried the stuff at home depot...it is crap.
